Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has picked five players that inspired him most as a footballer, one will definitely surprise you.

Sergio Aguero is Manchester City’s all-time leading goals scorer. He has achieved this remarkable feat in only nine seasons.

This season, even at the age of 32 he is still in a fantastic form that has helped City keep battling for multiple trophies, including the Champions League.

The Argentine striker has been formidable wherever he has played.

In 36 games for Independiente in his native Argentina, he scored 18 goals in 36 games.

From there he moved to Atletico Madrid, where he bagged 100 goals in 230 appearances.

In an interview reported by The Star, Aguero reveals five players that inspired him to be the player he is today.

He said:

“When I was very very young I used to focus a lot on Javier Saviola that used to play for River Plate.”

“Later I focused on Tevez, Juan Roman Riquelme, then Ronaldo from Brazil.”

“I also liked Michael Owen.”

“Mainly, I used to focus on the players that I liked and tried to play as they did.”
