Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has hit out on the president of the Technical Referees Committee Carlos Velasco Carballo following the latter’s public remarks on Thomas Lemar‘s movements in opposition to Villarreal.
In a press convention that happened on Tuesday, Velasco Carballo mentioned that Lemar must were despatched off as a substitute of receiving a yellow card for his elbow on Etienne Capoue in an incident that was once reviewed by means of VAR.
“I don’t perceive why the president of the Technical Committee of Referees publicly rebukes one of the crucial very best referees we’ve in Spain [Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea], and much more so when this choice can by no means be regarded as an error,” Gil Marin instructed EFE.
“The referee evaluates an incident at the pitch and comes to a decision after staring at it at the display screen, like the majority of soccer fanatics.
“Someone who has performed soccer, and any person who is aware of Thomas Lemar, can best believe the referee’s standards within the play.
“He does not attempt to assault the opposing participant, and even get him out of his approach, he best makes an attempt to proceed the play by means of dodging him when he all of sudden reveals him [with his elbow] whilst seeking to development on an attacking play.
“Those public feedback are very bad as a result of they situation the selections of the referees who should officiate us and provides the sensation that we’ve got been benefited from an arbitration error, when it’s not like that.”
For his phase, Velasco Carballo defined on Tuesday how the Technical Committee of Referees breaks down those incidents to come to a decision whether or not the best choice was once taken.
“The referee is going to look [the action] at the track, he disagrees along with his colleague and believes that the incident isn’t pink card and that this can be a yellow card,” Velasco Carballo defined.
“Smartly, absolute best. Now, later we need to analyse it because the Technical Committee of Referees, who we predict that has made the best choice, the VAR who idea it was once a pink card or the referee at the pitch, who has made up our minds on a yellow card.
“We do that research, we debate inside of our workforce and we are saying, guys, this for us is a pink [card] and this must be the factors to apply.”
